
METAL AND ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES CONSORTIUM FORMED

At the session of the Committee of the Association metal and electrical industry in the Federation BiH, held in Tesanj 09.12.2010. it was decided to form a consortium of companies from the metal and electrical industry.
The consortium is open and provides the possibility of accession for the other members, in order to better prepare for the nomination or public appearances in tenders for the works related to investments in mining and electronics.
Members of the basic agreement in the consortium are: “Mašinoremont Banovići,” Aka metal “Gracanica” Livnica “Visoko,” Bosnia valves Tuzla, “BNT TMiH Novi Travnik,” Metal “Zenica, Elektroremont Banovici and” Index “Gracanica . Committee of the Association of MEI in the extended session discussed the status and prospects for the development of these sectors and present activities and plans of the association.
To recover the desired growth rate in the metalworking industry, according to the Director of Industry department within Chamber of Commerce FBiH Nafija Šehić-Mušić, it is necessary to change the business environment in which there should be different standards, values and priorities. The changed business environment must put emphasis on domestic production and offer solutions that will stimulate development, the export of finished products and new employment
In accordance with the document “Contribution to National Development Strategy through the prism of the metal and electrical industry development of the FBiH Association of MEI was encouraged by the system institutions to accelerate the adoption of technical standards, build a system of technical evaluation of conformity of imported products with the relevant legal provisions, and support the export competitiveness of BiH products and services.
It has been prepared an action plan for implementation priorities relating to the priority objectives set in strategy (competitiveness, employment, development, environmental management, sustainable development and environmental protection …). Conclusions and recommendations from this session, as said by Vice President PKFBiH Avdo Rapa, will serve to upgrade the platform to represent the interests of members of chambers in the relevant institutions that will present problems of this sector and their vision for solving certain issues.
